Start with three numbers
Crane selection starts with three factors: lifting capacity, span (distance between runways) and lift height. Get these wrong and you either over-pay or under-specify. Write them down before talking to any supplier.
Light duty (1–32t)
For light workshops choose LD single girder or HD European single girder. The European type is lighter, VFD-controlled, three-in-one drive — energy-saving and low-maintenance. See the overhead crane overview.
Medium and heavy duty (32t+)
For metallurgy, foundry or grab duty choose QD double girder with Q345-B girder, ZG50SiMn forged wheels and 100% weld inspection — rigid and anti-rail-gnawing. For molten metal, specify a ladle crane.
Specialised lifting
- Grab bucket for scrap and bulk.
- Magnetic for steel shapes and slabs.
- Light/suspension for assembly lines.
